With its 2.0-liter turbocharged flat-four ‘boxer’ engine pumping out 218 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque, paired with Subaru’s iconic Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, it’s a nod to the golden era of motorsport.
This car, whilst a much loved and driven Modern Classic, is in a very rare format… stock! No tune. No Boost Tee. No Blow Off Valve. Even on the stock rims. Want to know something else it doesn’t have? Problems! This cars previous owner has meticulously looked after the vehicle – servicing at Performance Automobiles for nigh on a decade: with the previous owners taking equally good care of the car. Since the car has been in our care we have also replaced the clutch, alternate and some drive pulleys. The previous owner has also invested significant $ into refurbing the cooling system. The car starts, drives and stops very well!
This car is, to put it simply, so -damn- good to drive. The gearbox is smooth, clutch is firm but in a reassuring way and the engine pulls smoothly through the rev range. We could honestly see a middle-aged ex-bmx rider picking this one up, or a first car owner (what a first car this would be!) – both would be equally happy with their purchase!
So regardless of whether you are looking for reliable transport, a fun weekender, a WRX to end all time attack battles… or just a walk down memory lane, this is a car that deserves your consideration.
Note – There are some paintwork defects (aging clear coat) on the drivers side rear qrtr panel and bootlid. These can be left as is or fixed prior to sale for a small cost. Rims have some minor gutter rash and there are a couple of “shopping trolley” dings on the body work. No known or appoint accident history, nor are there any mechanical issues with the car. Car currently has a third party independent retail valuation of $17,930, so the list price has been adjusted to reflect these minor defects.
