Regardless of whether you are a passionate Mercedes Collector, an AMG Aficionado or someone who just loves a nice set of wheels; this car will capture your attention. We say capture, because it won’t just draw your gaze, it will keep it! All of this is our opinion of course. So let’s give you some quick facts. The Legendary AMG 6.3 Engine has 336kW and peak torque of 600Nm… this car has 358kw. A standard C63 will go from 0-100 in 4.4 second. This car is .1 second quicker to 100km/h from a standstill. Not that you will notice, because time will feel slow anyway as you rip towards the electronic speed limiter of 250 km/h (of course, you will be on a racetrack). We’ve driven plenty of C63’s and can confirm that this one sounds…different. Probably because it has 3kg less rotating mass inside of the engine. This makes the engine rev even harder then what other 6.3’s do,. Why? The crank, rods and pistons are all lightweight and come from the SLS Gullwing. Yep – the one with the cool doors. The value proposition of this car when compared to an earlier C63 doesn’t stop there. This car benefited from an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sports transmission sits somewhere between a DSG and a normal torque-converter automatic, the result being a combination of Mercedes luxury when in Comfort – and jarringly fast when you slip it into S+. The transmission has several modes, from Controlled Efficiency default mode to Sport, Sport Plus and Manual transmission modes – the gear shifts take just 100 milliseconds in S+ and M transmission modes. This era of C63 was one fo the first cars to ever have a “Race Start” (AKA Launch Control) option, and also one of the first to benefit from electronic downshift blip’s; rev matching to smooth the fast shifts (and make you sound like you really know what your doing). Oh – and it has an LSD. Seem crazy that this was ever an option with close to 500hp. Then we have the Bi-Xenon Lights…Carbon Fibre Spoiler… Upgraded Audio…. Panoramic Sunroof… Soft Leather interior… the list goes on. We won’t even draw a comparison to an M3. Give our team a call to arrange your inspection today.
