1 Owner, TAS Car | APR Stage 1 Tune | 180kw & 397nm | The “GTI Wagon” You Can’t Buy New Anymore
If you’ve ever wished a Golf GTI came as a wagon and are in need of a very flexible one car garage… we have the answer for you: this 2018 VW Golf Alltrack. One owner since new, owned by a white-collar professional, and used primarily for an East Coast to Hobart commute, it’s lived a sensible life with the right upgrades. It presents very well and feels tight, clean, and properly cared for. Because it is.
A big part of the appeal to this car is that you can’t simply order a new Alltrack in Australia anymore, VW decided to not make this model available on our shores. If you aren’t ready to give in and buy an SUV then this AWD “GTI wagon” might be just the solution you need.
Under the skin, it shares plenty of Golf DNA; Same MQB bones, turbocharged character, and that familiar VW steering feel, but wrapped in a more practical body with Alltrack stance and everyday usability. It’s a proper do-it-all wagon that still enjoys a back road. And there’s a tonne of aftermarket support and spares out there.
From factory, the 1.8 TSI is rated at 132 kW and 280 Nm, with period testing quoting around 7.8 seconds 0–100 km/h. With the APR Stage 1 tune, APR claims up to 223–242 hp (166–180 kW) and 267–293 lb-ft (362–397 Nm). thanks to the addition of this tune, the result is a sharper, stronger mid-range that makes overtaking and hill climbs effortless.
Service history is extensive, and it shows in the way it drives, all delivery books are included as well as two keys.
If you want a turn-key wagon that blends GTI-like punch with real-world practicality, this is one of the smartest and least boring, boring-daily drivers you can buy. Oh, and, a Golf R/Audi S3 IS38 turbo bolts straight on, apparently…
