Here it is — the Z car every enthusiast wanted but few could get their hands on. This is the Proto Z, the highly limited launch edition of Nissan’s latest Z platform.
One of just 240 delivered to Australia, and this example is as close to untouched as they come. Only 260km from new – and that includes delivery, transport and dealership servicing.
This Z has never been washed with water or soap, only cared for with compressed air and microfiber dusters. It has been stored indoors under a custom car cover, having received Nanotech ceramic coating prior to delivery, with a lifetime guarantee included.
The result? Paintwork that presents exactly as it did the day it was delivered to its original owner – a fastidious collector. Finished in exclusive Ikazuchi Yellow – a rich, complex shade with both metallic and pearlescent properties – and set off with RAYS forged wheels, this Proto Z is a rolling tribute to the heritage of the Fairlady line and the concept car that previewed it.
Under the bonnet is the potent VR30DDTT 3.0L twin-turbo V6, producing 298kW and 475Nm in standard trim. That’s already impressive – but for those who want more, this platform has proven tuning potential. With nothing more than a tune and premium fuel, many are comfortably seeing 330–360kW at the crank.
Add intakes and downpipes and it jumps again, with 400kW+ possible with flex-fuel and cooling upgrades.
Regardless of whether you choose to hide it under a cover, or make it your daily driver – the Proto Z is special now and likely to be even more so in the future.
