1 OWNER | SOLD & SERVICED AT TILFORD | MOUNTUNE CHARGE PIPE, OTHERWISE STOCK | 19” FORGED RIMS W.MICHELIN’s
257kw, 6 spd manual, dynamic AWD, 0-100kph time rivalling a Ferrari 360, Five doors, Three pedals. A factory Drift Mode. Clearly, the right people were left unsupervised at Ford.
This 2018 Focus RS in Nitrous Blue is for anyone who needs a practical hatchback but would prefer it came with a slightly cheeky personality. With 99,xxxkm, desirable forged wheels and all servicing conducted by Tilford, the originating dealer, this example has plenty going for it beyond the bright blue paint.
Importantly, it remains untuned and stock apart from a Mountune charge pipe. No lengthy modification list to decipher—just the original RS recipe with one small addition. Its next service is due in 2027 or at 107,000km, whichever comes first.
That original recipe is hardly lacking. The 2.3-litre turbocharged EcoBoost produces a factory-rated 257kW and 440Nm, with up to 470Nm available on overboost. Add a six-speed manual, launch control and torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, and Ford quoted 0–100km/h in 4.7 seconds. Quite enthusiastic for something with shopping-bag space.
The clever AWD system does more than help it leave the lights. By varying drive between the rear wheels, it helps the RS rotate through corners, giving it a playful character to match its grip. Normal, Sport, Track and closed-course Drift modes let you choose the mood; Drift Mode is assistance, though, not an instant qualification to become Ken Block. And after researching on YouTube it certainly seems to work.
This example features the desirable optional 19-inch forged alloy wheels, complemented by blue Brembo front brake calipers. Inside, RS-branded Recaro shell seats hold you firmly in the conversation, while the leather-wrapped RS steering wheel, alloy pedals and additional gauges make its intentions clear.
It also remembers that you might occasionally just need to go to work. SYNC 3 touchscreen navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry/start, a reversing camera and rear parking sensors cover everyday convenience. Adaptive bi-xenon headlights, heated power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers and ambient lighting round out the equipment.
For anyone already thinking “yes, but what if…”, there is documented tuning potential. Revo publishes approximately 272–281kW and 536–563Nm for Stage 1, or 298–324kW and 576–617Nm for Stage 2 with the required supporting upgrades.
Those are indicative engine-output figures, not wheel figures or this car’s current output. Stage 2 requires additional intake, intercooler, piping and sports-catalyst downpipe upgrades, with results dependent on fuel, calibration and vehicle condition. This car remains untuned—the next chapter is your choice.
A family-friendly hatchback with a thoroughly enthusiast-friendly attitude. Oh, but full
disclosure… this one hates speed cameras!
