The paintwork has recently been sympathetically restored and ceramic coated, giving the car a deep gloss and excellent protection. Minor chips and light scratches are present, but all consistent with age and mileage.
With 134,000 km and a documented service history, this example has been serviced regularly by AutoTechniq and remains mechanically strong. The difference between the base model Carrera and a 4S is truly night and day, grip from the all wheel drivetrain aside the extra .2L displacement on offer for the 4s brings about an additional 30hp & 30nm of torque, not to mention over a significantly improved rev range which means you don’t just get the before of more power – you get it for longer too.
The cabin is clean, comfortable and retains its factory look, with the only upgrade being an Apple CarPlay head unit that modernises connectivity without affecting originality. The optional-extra Bose Stereo Speakers remain in place and handle all but the hardest dubstep tracks with ease. This car received a solid Slicktop Alcantara roof instead of a sunroof which ensures that the occupants will stay dry without an expensive electrical repair coming due in later years. Some of the buttons have lost their symbol, or gained some stickiness, but all functions remain usable and all in all the interior is in great shape.
On the road, the 997.1 C4S is known for its balance and confidence. Its 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six produces 261 kW and 400 Nm, delivering a 0–100 km/h time of around 5.1 seconds in Tiptronic form. The all-wheel-drive system provides excellent stability, making it an ideal grand touring sports car for all conditions while still offering the classic Porsche feeling through the steering and chassis. With a deployable rear wing (which activates itself at speed) taking care of both cooling and downforce everything about the 911 screams that the smallest details were carefully considered
